Orion the best-in-class slitter-rewinder

Our famous and well-known ORION wide slitters are used all over the world, to prepare the rubberized fabric coming from the calendaring machine into pads. These pads could then be slit into strips on spooling line. Our Orion wide slitters are designed to receive different type of cutting devices at the same time on the same machine (floating razor, crush, shear….), depending on the product to be slit as well as to our customers’ “slitting philosophy” (focusing on the strip strength or on the strip width).

To answer our customer continuous need of higher productivity, we now propose alternatively our SATURNE high capacity slitter-rewinder. This heavy duty machine allows much bigger diameter for mother and daughter rolls. For instance the slit pads can be of 1300 mm diameter (instead of 800 mm on the standard Orion slitter) which is multiplying the product length by THREE (3 time more product on the pad), and thus : dividing by three the stopping times for pads unloading, but also dividing by three the amount of splices! Less splices operations required on spooling lines or TBM, and so, less splices in your final product. This machine can also be equipped with 2 or 3 cutting systems…

Aquila slitting and spooling lines, the modular concept by Calemard®

As far as spooling lines are concerned, we now propose two alternative versions of our Aquila slitting line

The standard Aquila 400 slitting and spooling line is fitted with 800 mm diameter dual unwinder (to receive the pads coming from the Orion wide slitter) and allows producing spools of 400 mm x 400 mm diameter. As expert in cutting technologies, we can also propose this standard version fitted with three different type of cut depending on product. The slitting stations can all be available on the machine and used alternatively to each other without dismantling one or the other.

The Aquila 500 is our slitting and spooling line equipped with bigger spoolers on two rows (instead of three) which means a longer line. In this case the spools are 500 x 500 mm which is allowing rewinding TWO times more product on each spool and thus dividing by two the changeover/handling times!

For both type of spooling heads (400 or 500) the Aquila slitting line can receive a driven high capacity unwinder in order to receive the pads coming from the SATURNE wide slitter (1300 mm diameter).

Combining the use of our SATURNE wide slitter and our Aquila 500 mini-slitter equipped with high capacity unwinder, represent the best solution to increase considerably your productivity and your final product quality: with THREE times less splices in the finished spools, take an interesting advantage for final product /tire quality (strength and balancing).

 How to valorize your faulty products?

As an innovative manufacturer, we have developed a machine to ease product recycling and reduce wastes on valuable products! Thanks to our New Doctor Recovery Line, tire manufacturers could transform bad spools and pads into good quality and valuable ones. By handling and rewinding either spools or pancakes, this new Doctor machine is totally flexible and allows: to rewind higher length of product on single bobbin/spool from small bobbins or spools, to recover damaged spools, to recover bobbins of wide edges from wide slitters and/or to remove scrap from pads or spools and to valorize the remaining good products. Stop wasting and throwing money away! Start recovering and valorizing faulty products!
